The 101-foot gaff-rigged schooner , Adventuress, was built in 1923 as a pilot boat and met tall ships outside the Golden Gate and guided them into San Francisco Bay. She has been in Puget Sound for over 30 years providing educational programs in marine ecology and history on voyages from one to ten days. The 42-foot ketch Blue Moon , was built in New Zealand and is shown sailing in the Kingdom of Tonga in the South Pacific. She has been cruising for ten years now, with no end in sight. The 26-foot yawl, Canto del Mar, was built by the artist and a friend and sailed the Caribbean for two years and the waters of Puget Sound and the Inside Passage for many years.
Snooker II was painted for a client and is at anchor at the foot of Chatterbox Falls in British Columbia. This painting depicts U.S. Coast Guard cadets training onboard the Bark Eagle. This is a painting of a 19-foot Drascombe yawl, similar to the one that Webb Chiles circumnavigated in one of the great sailing adventures in modern times.
